A Spirited Collection For Boomwhackers®, Voices, And Other Instruments
If you have tried them with your classes, you know what teachers everywhere are saying - Boomwhackers® are fun! Kids love to play them and just can't get enough of them once they have started. That's why these tuned plastic tubes have become such a huge success in music classrooms all over the country. While they are great tools for learning in many ways, they are ideal for adding lots of spark and energy to a performance. That's why we've asked the creative writers behind Music K-8 magazine to work their magic on these eight new settings of American standards. All of the arrangements are carefully structured to work with young players, and while most are designed to work with one or more sets of Diatonic Boomwhackers®, some arrangements use the Chromatic Add-ons or have optional second parts to include more players and expand learning possibilities. Several of the arrangements come with two different parts: one simpler and diatonic, and one more complex.
All of the songs are included on the Performance/Accompaniment CD, though some songs can easily be performed with just Boomwhackers® and simple classroom percussion. As you would expect from Plank Road Publishing, the recordings are of the highest quality, featuring world-class performers playing real instruments. Your students will be playing along with a full orchestra, a bluegrass group, a marching band, or a chamber group, as dictated by the tune.
